Bihar CM Nitish meets Kejriwal at his residence

Delhi – May 21 : Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar met Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal at the latter’s residence today, at 11:30 am. Yesterday, Kejriwal had sought the support of Opposition parties over the Centre’s new ordinance related to control of services in the national capital. He had called the ordinance unconstitutional and said that his government will move the Supreme Court against it. “I want to appeal to the Opposition parties to defeat this Bill in Rajya Sabha when it comes to them for clearing. I will speak to each head of party myself and will ask them to oppose the Bill. This is undemocratic and should not be passed,” he said.

Meanwhile, senior government officials said the ordinance would be supplemented by an additional notification, an order or a circular expected to be issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) early next week.

In other news, L-G House officials said the L-G Secretariat had received complaints from eight All India Services officials alleging “blatant harassment” at the hands of AAP leaders. Among these are Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar, who alleged misconduct and intimidation by Services Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj against officers in the department. Bharadwaj, for his part, has submitted a complaint to police accusing Kumar of issuing death threats to him. Police said they are looking into the matter. @TIE
